Alaina's Senior Pictures

Alaina came over mid afternoon on a warm weekend in May.
Earlier that morning as the sun was rising, all was so beautiful, sparrows flying all over the place, the lake so calm and smooth like glass, the sky so blue and the sun beaming through the misty trees...it was perfect.
But then as the day progressed it began to look like rain. And it did, it poured and poured just as Alaina was arriving. I had been praying really hard that morning for good weather. You can understand I was disappointed when it turned out different from what I had hoped for. Yet rain is beautiful too and we were able to get through it! We ate a snack waiting for it to let up some. When it did, we went outside. Our yard if covered in big trees, we noticed a good spot under a canopy of leaves from the trees above and began our photo-shoot. Little rain got to us there. The next fifteen pictures are of Alaina under a shelter of leaves. Alaina is so easy going, it really made the whole thing fun and so I relaxed more. She even liked all of the goofy pictures which I've included a couple of. Much to our surprise it wasn't long before the clouds parted again and the sun came out. The lake was once more smooth as glass so we headed that way and took the remainder of the pictures there. The birds came out again and the flowers looked shinier, with raindrops on them, highlighted in the sunlight. The only thing missing was a rainbow.
